Cultural school events

Overview

  • 1 weekly session of 1H30;
  • Free for all students (current and past);

Our social and cultural school events not only foster a deep connection with the Portuguese language and culture but also cultivate a strong sense of community within our school.

Every week, our art history teacher will guide the students in a different historical-cultural-themed event.

When teaching a foreign language it’s important to prepare it with a connection to daily life, society, and the historical and cultural context of the country. That’s why Português et cetera promotes the school events.

By joining our events, our students can learn more about our historical and cultural background, highlighting our most important historical periods and cultural aspects.

A couple of examples of our themed events:
– 1755 Lisbon earthquake
– Carmo ruins
– São Jorge’s castle
– Fado in Alfama
– Belem and the Maritime Exploration

In the school events, while students learn more about Portuguese culture and history, they can have a social immersion in a multicultural environment, since they come from all over the world and from different backgrounds. At the end of the tour, everyone can have fun and grab a beer with their new friends.

Our school events are free and open to our students, current and previous! Contact us to guarantee your spot and for more information at portugues@portuguesetcetera.com .
