This festival first started in 2013 with the goal to promote the Fado Music and it had a huge success. Fado is very famous in Lisbon and all over Portugal: it’s one of the most important elements that characterized the Portuguese’s culture. An important aspect that shows the unicity of Fado is that in 2011 it was considered “Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity” by UNESCO. If you haven’t listen to Fado yet, you should do it very soon!
The Caixa Alfama Festival is a great occasion where you could listen and fall in love with this genre of music. If you want to learn more about the Portuguese’s culture and discover Fado, you can’t miss this Festival! There will be more than 40 artists (i.e. Gisela João, Carminho and Carla Pires) that will perform in 10 different venues (i.e. Fado Museum). The price for the two day pass is 38€.
Don’t miss the opportunity to listen to Fado! Have fun and enjoy the atmosphere of this Festival and its music!
