As you may have noticed, Lisbon is a multiethnic city, where for many years, different cultures have had the possibility to meet. Lisbon's population, in fact, is composed by people coming from many different countries. For years this communities have shared their culture and their traditions with Portuguese people; one of the biggest ethnic group of the city, is the Chinese one. Due to that, Lisbon uses to celebrate the Chinese New Year's Eve in great style, in the areas of Martim Moniz and Almirante, where the majority of the Chinese community lives. During the event there will be the traditional parade in "avenida Almirante Reis", dances and shows during the whole day. The celebration of this year will take place on the dates of January the 21st and 22nd, between 10am and 5 pm. This event has become a great opportunity to show to Portuguese society, every year, the culture of this community who has made Portugal his home. Even if these celebration will take place on that dates, the real Chinese New Years Eve will be on the 28th of January.
