One of the most beautiful moment of the year is finally arrived!
What is better than the Christmas atmosphere characterized by lights, colors, music and typical food? What is better than walking through the crowd inside the Christmas markets placed all over the city?
If your answer is "nothing" you are in the right city! During Christmas you will have the chance to see how Lisbon changes its look showing some of the most important Portuguese traditions and its vitality.
The first thing you won't avoid to notice are the lights placed everywhere in the streets, on the buildings, in the houses, which will make you feel like being in a dreaming world, especially if some Christmas songs accompany your walking. Moreover, If you go to Praça do Comércio or Praça Dom Pedro IV you will bump into two of the highest Christmas trees of the city, under which people usually stop to take some pictures or to enjoy the time with someone special.
Furthermore, if you are in Lisbon you can't lose to visit the Christmas markets placed in Praça da Figueira, Praça do Municipio and the bigger one in Parque Eduardo VII, where you can find a real Christmas village with lot of entertainment - especially for children. Make yourself prepared to eat many typical pastries like "Bolo Rei" and "Bolo Reinha", "Sonhos", "Rabanadas" and "Tronco de Natal" (only to name a few) and to get involved in the "atmosfera de Natal" by all kind of music and smells with all the other Portuguese citizens.
Our sparkling crowded city will make you feel happy and excited like never before and, for some weeks in the year, it will make you come back to childhood, when you waited for Santa Claus to come to town.
We wish you a very happy Christmas and an enjoyable time under the Lisbon lights!
