We are happy and excited to invite you to this week’s tour to Sintra! Join us for a tour full of stories about kings, queens and their palaces. To begin with, here is the most important information:
When: Thursday, August 10, 2.00 pm
Where: Estação Ferroviária do Rossio, Entrance hall
What to bring: A public transport card (Return ticket is around 4 €)
Once Sintra was under Moorish rule, just like Lisbon. In the centuries to come, the area hosted many royal families.
Especially during the summer, the lighter climate helped to cool down a little. That is because of Sintra’s higher altitude. The foggy Sintra mountain range is the scene for many stories full of mystery.
Today, we are still able to see the wealth that some of those families must have acquired. Sintra is home to two palaces, many royal residences and other picturesque buildings. The municipality is part of the UNESCO World Heritage.
We will also have the chance to try a famous Portuguese pastry: Queijadas de Sintra.
At the end of the tour, there will be enough time left to visit one of the palaces by yourself. Note that this week the tour is on Thursday and not on Wednesday.
Please confirm your attendance in an email to: email@example.com
Learn about Sintra, this place full of history, meet people from other classes and practice your Portuguese in a relaxed environment.
We are looking forward to seeing you!
