Thousands of tourists go to Bairro Alto every week. However, few know about its rich history. This Wednesday you will have the chance to find out all about it, learning portuguese in Lisbon!
When: Wednesday, November 15, 3.00 pm
Where: Praça de Luís de Camões (by the statue in the middle)
Being one of the oldest neighbourhoods of Lisbon, it has seen many people come and go. On the tour, we will learn how it transformed over the centuries.
Before the earthquake of 1755, aristocrats lived in the area.
After its reconstruction, Bairro Alto turned into the bohemian hotspot of the capital. Journalists and writers but also bars and brothels shaped the life of the area.
Today, it is a hip neighbourhood with some street art and a busy night life.
We will end our tour at the Miradouro Santa Catarina to enjoy the view and have a drink together!
