Ensemble Bomtempo e Orquestra de Câmara do Conservatório Nacional

A concert performance of “The Christmas Oratory” composed by Camillie Saint-Saëns, during the Romantic Era. It was said to have been composed in 11days, and performed on Christmas day, 1858.

LisbonLand Light Show, Alameda

Usually this light show is in Praça do Comércio*, but this year it has moved to Alameda! 4D video mapping, jets of fire in sync with the projected multimedia images telling a story of Christmas.

Where: Luminous Fountain of Alameda, Dom Afonso Henriques (on the green and also red subway line)

Noite De Ano Novo (New Year’s Eve)

Experience New Years Eve, Portuguese style! Watch the fireworks, riverfront in the beautiful Praça do Comércio Square, or further along the Rio Tejo, in Belém. Get there early and secure a spot! Listen out for the banging of pots and pans from the homes of the Portuguese, as some welcome the New Year, the traditional Portuguese way, literally with a BANG!
