This week our teacher Beatriz will take us back in time to the era of Kings and Queens, that will create the feeling of living in a fairytale. From the XII to XX century there were a lot events that changed the city, and during our tour we will discover who contributed to the creation of Lisbon and how.
Starting our walk from our amazing Castle, we will discover the stories of Alfonso Henrique, the first king of Lisbon, and of his successors. Beatriz will talk about different historical ages and events, showing how the city has changed in the past centuries and how the political authorities reacted to the negative events.
We will meet on 31st of May in front of the ticket office of the Castle at 3.00 pm!

Finally the most awaited tour arrived! Walking up and down the Lisbon hills, Beatriz described us the fairy-tale world of the Portuguese kings and queens. We discovered that the word “Portugal” comes from the Romanic word “Portus Cale”, the first city of Portugal after the Roman conquest of the area from Carthaginians. Cale was a small city situated in the Nort of the country, and when Romans arrived they called it Port of Cale because of its proximity to the ocean. We also discovered that most of the time the world of kings and queens is not so faboulous: murders, incests, betrayals usually characterize the past, but maybe it’s because of them that the past is so interesting.
