Overview

  • 1 weekly session of 1H30;
  • Free for all students (current and past);

Our social and cultural school events foster a deep connection with the Portuguese language and culture and cultivate a strong sense of community within our school.

Our art history teacher will guide the students in a different historical-cultural-themed event every week.

When teaching a foreign language, it’s important to prepare it with a connection to daily life, society, and the historical and cultural context of the country. That’s why Português et cetera promotes the school events.

By attending our events, our students can learn more about our historical and cultural background, which highlights our most important historical periods and cultural aspects.

A couple of examples of our themed events:
– 1755 Lisbon earthquake
– Carmo ruins
– São Jorge’s castle
– Fado in Alfama
– Belem and the Maritime Exploration

During school events, students learn more about Portuguese culture and history and can socially immerse themselves in a multicultural environment since they come from all over the world and from different backgrounds. At the end of the tour, everyone can have fun and grab a beer with their new friends.

Our school events are free and open to all current and former students! Contact us at portugues@portuguesetcetera.com to guarantee your spot and for more information.
